The salesman is amazed by the high quality whiskeys and cigars on display behind the bartender as well as on each of the four walls of the bar and is happy not to walk into yet another sports bar that does not really know what it wants to be with a combination of a pool table, multiple TVs and cigars.
The software engineer is observing the bartender writing down our order at the table, then walking to the bar and entering our order in the desktop computer. He is wondering whether there is not a more efficient way to use technology and eliminate some of these steps.
The accountant is wondering how the owner of the bar can make sure that the money of the customers paying in cash is actually accounted for correctly. He also wonders what the best way would be for the employees to keep track of all their tips.

As it happens (big coincidence here), the team behind Techne also started with a salesman, an accountant and a software engineer. As illustrated by the example above, the different ways of approaching the exact same situation has led Techne to be very different then any other accounting software out there. Now I hear you thinking, how so?
Let's take a look at your standard accounting software, whether it is a well established player on the market like Quickbooks, or a new entrant like Wave, chances are that the first time you use it you are a little bit confused. And you are not alone, there is a reason there are so many blogs and websites about which accounting software to use. And there is a reason why most of these websites and articles include a section on user friendliness of the software. The mere fact that these sections exists in these comparisons means that the general conception of an accounting software is that they are not very user friendly. One of the main reasons for this is that they are almost all created by accountants who start the entire development process by figuring out the technical pieces of accounting and loose track of the people they are actually developing the product for.
We at Techne took a very different approach. Combining the different points of view of our founding team has led us to never forget who we created this product for, you, the small business owner. Not your accountant.
As a result you will find Techne to provide you with a completely different experience right from the first moment you lay eyes on it. From design to user interface, it will make you wonder what these other accounting software are on about. Sign up to get on our list and we will keep you up to date on when we are launching.
Techne. Next generation accounting for your small business
